Guadalest, a wonderful piece in the mountainous area of Marina Baxa in the province of Alicante, offers a great experience. This picturesque town, 133 km from Valencia, 22 km from Benidorm or 135 from the apartment, attracts tourists with its charming sights.
The popular mountain village of Guadalest consists of several estates, over which the remains of a medieval castle tower. The baroque church Mare de Déu de l'Assumpció, restaurants, museums and souvenir shops are also worth a visit.
The castle, whose history dates back to the Arab period, dominates the top of the 700-meter-high rock. It was created in the 11th century under Arab rule and in the 13th century, after the defeat of the Moors, it became part of the Kingdom of Valencia.
